5Better than the "man step" from Ford!
By Tweak89
Installed this on a 2011 F150 Supercab XLT. Took all of 15 minutes to do, very easy install.

This step beats the Ford tailgate "man step" hands down. Biggest advantage is being able to use it with the tailgate up. Deploys with a simple push from your foot, when your done, just give a little shove and it pops back into it's stowed position.

Highly recommended.

5Trekstep truck stepup
By lw
The TrekStep was the perfect solution to my problem. I purchased a 2011 F-150. Unfortunately I got everything that I wanted except the factory step-up tailgate. Because I have bad knees, and trouble getting into the bed of the truck when the tailgate is down, I started looking for a step-up to add to the truck bed. I found that there are many different step-ups out there, but I personally have a problem drilling holes in a new vehicle. The TrekStep was the answer for me. I didn't have to drill any holes for the installation. The hardest thing for me was finding a 21mm deep socket that was needed for the installation. The new step works great and it cost less than the others.

5Bestop TrekStep for 2011 F150
By jim88
The Bestop TrekStep for my 2011 F150 installed easy (essentially-2 bolts off, 2 bolts on) and functions well.
PROs: My knees have seen better days and I don't need to climb onto or jump off my tailgate anymore! The step swings down and back up with ease. It's sturdy construction gives a solid footing, and it allows for some small measure of adjustment of the step so that you can easily get your toe on it to deploy it down. The position of the deployed TrekStep makes it easy to step up onto either the bumper or the tailgate. When the step is extended down, it does not swing as you put your weight onto it or while you stand upon it. It's much less expensive than Fords $500 step built into the top edge of the tailgate, simpler to use too.
CONs: My TrekStep has plastic side caps on the step-plate that are held in place by a single screw on each one, these plastic caps might be able to come off someday if I'm not mindfull to avoid kicking them out sideways. I mention this because Bestop also offers a version of this TrekStep with a one piece, molded step-plate available from Ford Motor Corp (part number: VAC3Z-9920040-A) at a significantly higher price of $226. That said, I still chose to purchase this one on Amazon for $160 and while I'm not convinced the caps will break, the step would function the same with or without them. Also, to be honest, the TrekStep won't deploy as easy when frozen snow/slush get in the way.
