Westin Step Bars

Ordered these bars and recieved them in three days and free shipping! I installed these on my 2012 Silverado Ext Cab LTZ and they look great. I rated these a four ONLY because of the instructions, the illustrations are almost worthless and I have yet to get a reply to my e-mail to Westin customer service about what the torque value is on the cab bolts. My advice is to search the web and watch the installation video, that will help you a lot and these aren't difficult to put on once you see that, should take about an hour. You will be reinstalling your factory cab bolts, do not use an impact wrench to remove or install them, you risk breaking the nuts inside the body loose and then you'll be screwed. I finally heard back from GM today, the torque value is 74 ftlbs. You'll need a breaker bar,a 13/16 deepwell socket, and a 6" extension. For the bolts that come with the bars you'll need a 3/4 and a 5/8 socket. The center hole on the bars is more towards the rear than the fron t, this will help you identify which bar goes on which side, the brackets are marked, drivers side ones are in the green bag, pass. in the clear bag, smooth side goes to the outside, reinforced side goes inboard. One more handy item to have if you're working alone is an atv/motorcycle jack, they are wide enough and have rubber pads on them, you can use it to lay your bars on and raise them into positon to start your bolts and not scratch your bars. Tighten the bar bolts first, check the alignment, then tighten your cab bolts and torque them, 74 ftlbs, and yer done. These are nice bars and I would recommend them, Amazon also had the best price of any site I searched. I hope this helps.

Wow these are perfect!!!!

I can't say enough about these step bars. I purchased a Chevy Pick-up a few months ago,, and have been looking for step bars. There are many to choose from. I would see many bars on trucks, and some would look great, and some wouldn't. I finally got a close look at some great ones and the were Westin. I chose the 4" Oval since it gave the largest foot print to step on. I was concerned that they may be too wide for getting out causing a tripping hazard. Well they are perfect!! First getting them through Amazon as always was a breeze. Great price, prompt & free shipping - very smooth. Now for the product. It was packaged very well so there is little chance for shipping damage. The product is a very high quality, the mounting brackets are very sturdy, and installation was very easy. It took me about 45 minutes - from start to final Polish. I would highly recommend these.

Westin 21-1680 Platinum Polished Oval Step Bar

I recently purchased these from Amazon for a price that I couldn't beat anywhere. I have a 2008 GMC Sierra 1500 Ext. Cab SLE and the installation process took me about an hour to complete both sides! The directions that were included aren't that good but, there are a couple of good videos on You Tube that really help. Really simple once you get going. They look Great!
